Access Statement – Hotel Torquay – Bed and Breakfast in Torquay

Introduction:

We aim to make Court Prior as accessible to as many people as possible. The following information should help you assess whether Court Prior is suitable as a place to stay.

Court Prior is a period Victorian villa with later more modern extensions; it has a number of steps and self-closing fire doors throughout. Although it occupies a level site, with two steps up to the entrance, the car park/driveway comprises a thick gravel layer which is unsuitable for those dependant on a wheelchair. The hotel is located in a quiet, conservation area close to the centre of Torquay and approximately 300 metres from the sea front, approached up a fairly steep hill (Sheddon Hill). The garden and outdoor terrace is accessed down 5 steps and there are a number of sub-tropical plants in the garden with sharp edges, which may potentially cause injury to the unwary.

Court Prior provides quality en-suite B&B and Apartment accommodation in 8 letting rooms. There is on-site parking for up to ten vehicles.

The property is not licensed. Special dietary needs can be catered for by prior arrangement. We do not allow pets of any kind in the B&B. However, dogs are permitted in the self-catering Apartment.

We do not accommodate sporting groups, stag or hen parties, or children under the age of sixteen.

We pro-actively offer help in carrying luggage to guest’s rooms. There are outside security lights that automatically turn on and off.
